William Joe "Bill" Harl, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on July 23, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Bill was born on February 4, 1936, in Oklahoma, to William and Geneva Harl. Following his graduation from high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Sergeant before receiving his honorable discharge in 1956.

After completing his military service, Bill began a distinguished career with Cook Electric, where he dedicated more than 50 years of faithful service before retiring. Never one to sit idle, he later worked part-time with Corbett Funeral Home, where he continued serving others with the same kindness and dependability that defined his life.

Bill enjoyed spending time on the golf course and was an avid golfer throughout his life. He was also deeply committed to his community through his involvement with the India Temple and Alzafar Shrine. His dedication to Freemasonry and the Shrine led him to serve as Potentate, a role he held with great pride and honor.

Bill will be remembered for his steadfast work ethic, his devotion to serving others, and the lasting friendships he built throughout his life. His quiet strength, generous spirit, and unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and community will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Carolyn Harl, daughter Julie Harl, granddaughters Gretchen and Sydney Duffus, nephews Steve and Davis Wails, and his furry children Scarlet and Shelby. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Harl and Geneva Aston; his son Jay Harl; and his brother Larry Wails and wife Donna.

A private graveside service will be held at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Arcadia, Oklahoma, where Bill will be laid to rest.
