Obituary

Savannah Captain

A Life of Joy. A Legacy of Love. Forever Cowgirl Strong.

Cowgirl Savannah lived a life defined by joy, laughter, kindness, and an extraordinary ability to touch others—without speaking a word.

Savannah Davis Captain was born on March 9, 2005, in Eugene, Oregon. She departed Edmond, Oklahoma, for Heaven on August 7, 2026. Savannah attended schools in Edmond and loved attending services at Crossings Community Church.

Savannah taught those blessed to know her that a meaningful life is measured, not by what the world says you can achieve, but by how deeply you love, how freely you give joy, and how you make others feel.

Savannah faced more battles in her life than most people ever will, yet those battles never defined her. Joy did.

She loved life, horses, Mexican food, trips to the mall, music, laughter, and being surrounded by the people she loved. And, of course, she loved being a cowgirl.

Savannah brought people together and reminded us of what truly matters. She showed us that communication is bigger than words. Without saying a thing, she could make you laugh, tell you exactly what she wanted, and make you feel loved.

Her life was a testimony to strength, determination, and the power of a joyful heart.

Savannah’s legacy will live on through Savannah Station Therapeutic Riding Center (SSTRC), created in her honor and inspired by her love of horses. There, her story will touch lives, bring hope, and create opportunities for generations to come.

Savannah will be deeply missed by her mom and dad, Athena and Jerry Captain; her sister and family, Jada and James Haycraft and Isabelle Haycraft; and the many members of her extended family and chosen family who loved her fiercely and were blessed to be part of her life.

While our hearts ache because we miss our cowgirl princess, we also celebrate.

We celebrate the beautiful life she lived, the lives she touched, and the legacy she leaves behind.

Most importantly, we have peace knowing that Savannah is whole and free. We imagine her riding horses in Heaven.

Celebration of Life
