Sandra Jo Webster was born in Kingfisher, Oklahoma, on January 27, 1944. Sandra closed her eyes on earth on April 15, 2026, and opened them in heaven in the presence of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Sandra attended school in Kingfisher and Marston Junior High in San Diego, California, before graduating from U.S. Grant High School in OKC. Sandra continued her education, attending OU, UCO, and a community college.
Sandra began working at the City of Oklahoma City in the Municipal Courts and became the supervisor over the clerical division for the Oklahoma City Police Department, supporting the patrol division. During this time, Sandra met the love of her life, James Robert (Jim, JR, or Dad) Webster, and joined in marriage on February 14, 1972. Sandra and James began raising their family of a daughter, Melisa, and three sons, Scott, Sam, and Jeremiah.
Sandra and her family lived in several cities and states while raising their family and working several different jobs over the years, but the most memorable will be the chicken farm they owned in Arkansas, where they raised over 80,000 chickens, which is also why none of her children owns a chicken to this day. Sandra and her family then moved back home to Oklahoma, where she began her career at the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, working there for over 10 years. She still found time to discover her hidden talents as a florist, cake decorator, wedding coordinator, and real estate assistant, until she began to lose her sight and had to retire. During all that time, Sandra and the family enjoyed trips together, including camping and traveling around the U.S. in their motor home.
She became a member of her church and joined Bible study groups to continue to teach and learn about Jesus. Sandra did not let losing her sight slow her down; instead, she embraced her new chapter, getting her first seeing-eye dog, Bolton, and joining the Oklahoma Heartland Council of the Blind. Sandra enjoyed the group so much that she rose to become its President, working with state and local officials to increase awareness for the blind across the State of Oklahoma, and pioneering "Dining in the Dark" events and Easter egg hunts for blind children, using eggs that make noise.
Her greatest accomplishment was raising her four children and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sandra moved to El Reno, Oklahoma, where she spent the last six years bravely battling Alzheimer's. Despite her struggle with this disease and other chronic pain, she never complained and maintained a positive attitude. She continued to share her love of Jesus Christ and never lost her sense of humor in her day-to-day life.
Sandra was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Webster, of 33 years; her father, Kenneth Smith; her mother, Rovella Ledbetter; her brother, Kenneth Smith; her two beloved guide dogs, Bolton and Camelot; and many aunts and uncles. Sandra is survived by her son James "Scott" Webster and his wife Vickie of Oklahoma City; her daughter Melisa Brumley and her husband Mark of Oklahoma City; her son Samuel Webster and his wife Kelli of El Reno; and her son Jeremiah Webster and his wife Ellie of Newalla, Oklahoma; her 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; her sister Sharon Valencia; and sisters-in-law Judy Rycroft and Donna Smith.
A service for Sandra Webster will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM at New Hope United Methodist Church, located at 11600 North Council Road in Oklahoma City, with graveside services at Kingfisher Cemetery. All services will be officiated by Pastor Ben Gonzalez of Discovery Church.
