Rita J. Garen

Rita Jewel Garen, age 79, died of ALS on December 13, 2019 in Cleveland County, Oklahoma. Rita is survived by her Husband, Donald Ray Garen, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her daughter Shawn Curtis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her daughter Dr. Sherry Cox of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her Grandchildren, Chloe Wilson of Temple, Georgia; Ryan Curtis of Moore, Oklahoma; Reba Cox-Sakon of New York City, New York; Kevin Curtis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Ethan Cox of Norman Oklahoma; and her Great Grandchildren, Emery Wilson and Finn Wilson of Temple Georgia; Ava Cox of Norman, Oklahoma and Cason Curtis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Rita was born on September 29, 1940 in Lawton, Oklahoma, to parents David Fred Miller and Jewel Pearl (Hall) Miller. She graduated from Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City in 1958 and attended LSU. Rita was preceded in death by her parents and her brother. Rita was a firearms dealer for several years. She enjoyed RVing, traveling, the beach, Disney World, and spending time with her grandkids and family. Her family and friends will always remember her as a vivacious, friendly and beautiful person.
