Richard "Rick" Grosshans

Richard "Rick" Grosshans of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday afternoon, August 2, 2017 He was born November 15, 1933 in East Liverpool, Ohio, residing there until the age of 6 when he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. Rick joined the Navy in 1955 and was a member of the Seabees. He graduated from San Fransisco State University with a degree in Civil Engineering and retired from the Army Corp of Engineers, Tulsa District after 30 years. He was an active member of Harvard Avenue Christian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma until he moved to Oklahoma City Oklahoma in 1995 and became a member of United Methodist Church of the Servant. Rick loved the Boy Scouts and was an active member for 75 years. He served as liaison for the Boy Scouts with the Oklahoma Methodist Conference and held two Eagle Awards, one in the United States, and the other given to him by the Philippine president for his work with the Boy Scouts while he was stationed there. Rick is survived by his loving wife Dixie; son David & wife Nancy Grosshans; daughter Carol Creason; Step-Daughter Connie & husband Bob Patteson; Step-Daughter Penny & husband Mike Sheehan; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by daughter Beth Forbes. A memorial service will be held at 11 am, on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at United Methodist Church of the Servant located at 14343 N. MacArthur, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73142 Memorials in Rick's memory may be made to Church of the Servant Music Ministries.
