RICHARD MCMILLAN CHAMBERS, 89, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Passed away on November 3, 2018 at Integris Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 22, 1929 in Grandfield , OK. He is the son of Harry McMillan Chambers, Gladys O. (Richards) Chambers. Richard went to Classen High School, graduating in 1946. He went to the University of Oklahoma on a Voice scholarship in 1947. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree from Oklahoma A&M University in 1950. Richard met and married his loving wife Patricia L. (Gragg) Chambers. They were married 68 years. Richard worked for 42 years with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and the last 15 years served as Benefits Manager for Oklahoma. He was a proud Veteran with the United States Air Force serving as a 1st Lt. at Keesler Airforce Base from 1951-1953. He was very devoted to scripture. He was very involved with his grandchildren’s athletic events as well as their scholastic events. Richard had affiliations with numerous associations including, Member Phi Kappa Phi , Sigma Alpha Epsilon Member ( Oklahoma Mu chapter ) since 1948, Downtown Lion’s Club, President 1978, Member Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), Member of OKC Art Museum and National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, Former member St. John’s Episcopal Church – sang in the Choir and served on the Vestry, New Member Christ the King Roman Catholic Church. Richard was preceded in death by his parents Harry McMillan Chambers, Gladys O. (Richards) Chambers. He is survived by his wife Patricia L. (Gragg) Chambers, his children Christi A. Chambers Hall, Stefanie L. Garrett and husband Doug, Louis M. Chambers and wife Angela, siblings Dr. Robert E. Chambers and wife Pat-Gastonia,NC., Gloria R. Patton-Palmetto, FL, and grandchildren, Jaklyn F. Garrett, Thomas M. Garrett, Andrew M. Chambers, and numerous Nephews and nieces.
