Melba Buchanan Haun Cramer

Melba was a bright light and friend to all. She was planning her “surprise 90th birthday party” for November 26, but God called her home on September 18, 2022.

Melba was in the first graduating class from the old John Marshall High School in 1950. She married Bert Franklin Cramer in 1950 and they were blessed with three children, Carla Osborne, Bert Cramer, and Ron Cramer. Unfortunately in 1969 at the age of 38, Frank passed away and Melba‘s true grit kicked in to care for her family as a widowed mother.

In 1978 Melba found love and companionship with Seth Haun and they were very happy together for 20 years until he passed away in 1998.

Melba was blessed to find love again at 85 years old and married Gene Cramer in 2017. A wonderful home with loving care was provided to them by Gene‘s daughter Beverly Purvis and her husband Chuck Purvis for the last several years. Gene's family embraced Melba as one of their own and she loved being their "Bonus Mom" and Grandma. Melba was a lover of jokes, children, funny T-shirts and most of all her family.

She is survived by her two sisters, three children, 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. We will all miss Melba dearly. Her Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday September 26 at 11:00 AM at The Church of the Nazarene in Choctaw. 1100 Harper St., Choctaw, OK
