Marcia Sue Wentz

December 13, 1947 — December 17, 2023

Tuttle

Marcia Sue Wentz was born to William P. “Wink” and E. Dorothy (Matz) Wentz in Wichita, KS on December 13, 1947.  She peacefully joined her parents in Heaven on December 17, 2023.

Marcia lived her life around the philosophy that everything happens for a reason, trusting that God has a plan for each of us and that the joys and sorrows we experience guide us and help us grow into the individuals we are meant to become.

Marcia’s greatest joys were her surviving children, Michelle Christina Dooner of Memphis, TN, and Jay Thomas (Trisha) Dooner, of Tuttle, OK, and her three surviving grandchildren, Kaylie, Brenden, and Rylan Dooner, who will always have fond memories of baking cookies with their “Grandma Glasses.”

Marcia cherished her childhood and loved to reminisce about the time she spent at her aunt and uncle’s farm in Peabody, KS, playing with her cousins, learning the basics of baking, and sewing, and ultimately appreciating how those life lessons shaped her into the woman she became.

After graduating from West High School in Wichita, KS in 1965, Marcia attended Kansas State University and later in life earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma.

Throughout her professional career, Marcia found fulfillment in helping others.  As a university admissions specialist, she helped young people who were starting their higher education; and later she helped bring comfort to families and their loved ones who were in their twilight years as an admissions director in the senior living industry.

Marcia had a passion for sewing, quilting, and cross-stitching.  She was an accomplished seamstress, making clothes for herself throughout her life and for her children during their early school years, including the best Halloween costumes in the neighborhood.  She lovingly made quilts for all her family members, each hand-sewn to perfection.  And when you were gifted one of her cross-stitched pieces, you knew that each stitch was done with love and with only you in mind.  Everything that Marcia made with her gentle hands was something to be treasured.

In addition to her children, grandchildren, and many close friends from Kansas to Oklahoma, Marcia is survived by her brother, Darrel (Pat) Wentz of Elbert, CO, niece Leslie Wentz Hill (Justin), and great-niece Grace Hill of Peyton, CO, and her uncle, Warren Windsor of Peabody, KS.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Reinhoel; uncles and aunts, Allen “Bud” and Margaret "Sally" Carol Matz (Clark); Adeline (Merle) Spangler and Donna Windsor.
