Lonnie Kaye Sims

December 3, 1964 — May 21, 2024

Oklahoma City

Lonnie Kaye Sims, the sixth child of James Edward and Maxine Sims, was born on December 3, 1964, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He attended the Oklahoma Public School System and graduated from Millwood High School. Inspired by his father's entrepreneurial spirit, Lonnie pursued his dream of becoming a business owner.

As the sole proprietor of L.S. Executive Services, Lonnie excelled as a professional businessman in various skilled labor jobs, specializing in the flooring industry. His work took him across the state, where he earned a reputation for his expertise and dedication.

Beyond his professional life, Lonnie had a profound passion for helping others. He loved attending church, cooking, playing the guitar and occasionally the piano, and above all, giving generously. His signature bar-b-que baked beans were perhaps the best on the planet, and he took great joy in bringing people together for fellowship and good times.

Lonnie was a dedicated member of Faith Tabernacle COGIC, where he served faithfully from his youth. In June 2005, he was appointed Deacon and continued to serve under Pastor Elder T. Antwone until his illness.

Lonnie departed this life on May 21, 2024, at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital on Memorial Rd. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Maxine Sims.

Lonnie leaves to cherish his memory his five children: Lonnie Lamarrio Sims, Cora Bresha Brown, Destiny Tamare Sheard, Dezhon Lamar Nubine, and Justin Michael Brown. He was a proud grandfather to Sarai Lenorah Sheard, Rhymedi Hope Nubine, Koriyon Brown, and Jayden Brown, all of whom live in Oklahoma City. He is also survived by his five brothers: Jimmy Sims (St. Louis, Missouri), Bennie Joe Sims, Edward Sims, Mike Sims, and Donnie Sims (Oklahoma City). Additionally, Lonnie leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, church family, relatives, and friends.

Lonnie's legacy of love, faith, and generosity will forever be remembered by all who knew him.
