Linda Farris

Linda Jean Zimmerman was born November 11, 1948 to Cecilia and William Lewis Zimmerman. Her father is deceased and her mother lives in assisted living here in Oklahoma City. She grew up in Stillwater, OK and attended OSU before graduating from OCU with a degree in Speech and Drama. Linda married Richard Farris on May 19, 1974. Linda worked as a case manager for the Oklahoma Welfare Department in mid 1970s, Dog Groomer/Breeder in the 1980s, and paralegal from 1995 until her retirement 3 years ago. She approached each job as a perfectionist with great concern for those she served. She was creative, kind and gentle. Linda was an avid gardener, enjoyed playing bridge and was extremely fond of her West Highland White Terriers. Linda died April 20, 2017 after more than 2 years in a battle against gastric cancer. Her funeral is to be held at 1 pm Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Corbett Funeral & Cremation with reception to follow. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens (east Memorial Rd and Kelly Ave.) Please join us there if your time permits.
