Larry Leonard Lugo passed away on June 24, 2025, in Edmond, Oklahoma, with his wife and son by his side. He was born on April 24, 1952, in Los Angels, California, and will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, brother, and a man whose steady life was marked by commitment, hard work, and love for his family.
Larry built his life on education, dedication, and service. In 1970, he attended Miami-Dade Junior College, where he earned an Associate in Arts degree. He then continued his studies at Florida International University, receiving a Bachelor of Business degree and becoming an accountant. That path led him into a career defined by reliability and public service. He worked most of his life in the City of Florence finance department in South Carolina, serving there for 25 years until his retirement in 2014.
A turning point in Larry’s life came in 1977, when his job transferred him from Miami to Lake City, South Carolina. There he met Rebecca Davis, who would become the love of his life. They were married in March of 1979, beginning a marriage that would remain at the heart of his life. Larry also enjoyed playing tennis during his college years, a pastime that brought him pleasure in his spare time.
Above all, Larry cherished his family. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca “Becky” Lugo; his daughter, Tanya Lugo; his son, Travis Lugo; and his older sister, Esther Lugo. The love he shared with them, and the life they built together, remain a lasting part of his legacy.
Larry’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
