Joseph C. Briley

Joseph C. Briley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, August 20, 2018, following a brief illness. Born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Joe was son of Barbara Jean Allen and Noel Cravens Briley. Joe graduated from Harding High School, then attended Yale University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, followed by a Masters of Business Administration from Harvard University. Joe had a successful career in banking and business in New York City, culminating in his 13 years of service to the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. Joe was also proud to serve as president of his Yale Alumni graduating class. Joe is survived by his beloved children, Alexis Briley and Christopher Briley; Christopher’s wife Jessica; grandson Cyrus; longtime partner Carol McPheeters; brothers Noel and Patrick Briley; and many extended family members and friends. Service is 1:00 PM August 23, 2018 at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
