Jeffrey Howard Schimandle

     It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dr. Jeffrey Schimandle,69 who passed May 2026 in Oklahoma City . Born on February 14, 1957, in Germany to the late George and Mary (Macaro) Schimandle.

     Growing up in NJ he was a Boy Scout, lifeguard, and avid baseball and football player. He was a graduate of South Brunswick High School and University of Pennsylvania. He went on to Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He completed his residency at the University of Pennsylvania, University of Maryland in Orthopaedic Surgery and Emory University School of Medicine Orthopaedic Surgery of the Spine.

     He had a passion and an endless thirst for knowledge that continued throughout his entire life. He was a talented and brilliant surgeon and had dedicated countless hours to his patients. Jeff, to me was simply my big brother who was a such a prankster, a friend, and confidant. He settled in Oklahoma City, where he treated victims of the April 19, 1995, Oklahoma City bombing. Himself personally tending to a critically injured toddler and some of the young surviving children.

     Jeff was predeceased by his sister Kim. He is survived by his sister Lisa and brother-in-law Mike. He has 3 beautiful nieces and 3 beautiful daughters.

     A celebration of life service will be held at a future date. Once finalized, specific details regarding the time, date, and location of the service will be shared with family and friends.
