Jeanan (Joyce) Maguire, 100, passed away July 7, 2025, in Oklahoma City. She was born June 7, 1925, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and was the only child of Lavalette Missouri (Davis) Joyce and Hannibal Neal Joyce. She was raised by her mother and grandparents, Alonzo Booker Davis and Rosaline (Ferrell) Davis. She married Joe Dell Maguire on June 12, 1944, at Sedalia Army Air Field in Missouri. The couple celebrated their 71st anniversary in 2015 and were married until Joe passed away January 24, 2016. Jeanan graduated from Central High School in the Class of 1943 and attended the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha. In addition to raising her family, she worked at Hy-Grade School Supply during and after World War II, and as a comptometer operator, bookkeeper for Velma E. Potterf, test monitor for the U.S. Civil Service Commission and office manager for Dr. Jerry Shepherd’s ophthalmology practice. She was active in her community throughout her life and often hosted dinner parties, bridge clubs, sewing clubs, church groups and more. She was an active member at First Baptist Church in Oklahoma City since 1962. She loved to travel and was an avid reader. She was dedicated to her husband and family and is survived by many, including daughter Jana McNeill (Steve), son Jon Maguire (Rhonda), grandchildren Kelly McConnell (Matt), Kathleen Miller (Ryan), Sean Maguire (Stephanie) and Megan Tiberg (Chris), and 12 great-grandchildren.
