In Loving Memory of Janice Rider

It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janice (Jan) Rider, who left this world peacefully on Monday, August 3rd, 2026, at the age of 76.

Born on February 12, 1950, in Oklahoma City, Jan grew up with a loving heart and a warm spirit that touched everyone she met. She dedicated her life to being a mother, where her compassion and dedication left a lasting mark. Jan always made the world a little brighter for those around her.

Jan was a loving grandmother whose greatest joy came from time spent with her two granddaughters and her great-granddaughter. She cherished family gatherings and getting together with friends. Jan always enjoyed crafting and made many scrapbooks over the years for friends and family.

She is survived by her son Jarred Rider, his wife Rebecca, granddaughter Rachel, and great-granddaughter Gracie; Matt Rider, his wife Debora, and granddaughter Emma. Jan is preceded in death by her husband Michael Rider; her parents Mayo and Betty Cantwell. Jan was loved by her siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. A celebration of Jan’s life will be held on Saturday, August 8th, 2026, at Corbett Funeral Home in OKC, with friends and family invited to share stories, memories, and the joy she brought into the world. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Regional Food Bank of OKC. Though she is no longer with us on earth, Jan’s life will be remembered forever in the people she loved.
