James “J.D.” Delbert Scott Jr. passed away on July 20, 2025, at the age of 78 after a well-fought battle with Parkinson’s.
Born to James Scott Sr. and Edna (Maust) Scott on July 12, 1947, in Strong City, Kansas. Survived by Siblings: Sue (Scott) Smith (Monty), Eddie Scott (Saundra). Children: John Scott (Rebecca), Jerry Scott (Jill). Grandchildren: Joshuwa Scott (Peyton), Kaleb Scott (Danielle), Karlisa (Scott) Outhouse (Jonah), Jordan Scott, Kaitlyn Scott. Great-Grandchildren: Kanaan Scott, Jude Outhouse.
Beloved Owner of Scott’s General Store and Native American Gallery (along with Top Hat Antiques), J.D. touched countless lives with his passion for life. His quick wit, mischievous smile, and twinkling eyes were endearing to all. His legacy is that of a Historical Curator. His knowledge and love of Native American culture and artifacts were unparalleled. His friends were his true wealth, and he will be deeply missed.
Interment will be at Bazaar Cemetery in Bazaar, Kansas.
