Helen Lillian Glenn died at the age of 81 years at the home of her daughter Linda Glenn Kesler on May 5, 2009. Helen was January 1, 1928 to Alonzo and Lottie Barnes Clark in Eufaula, Oklahoma. Helen was a homemaker, wife and loving mother to four children. Her husband Harold H. Glenn died in 1996. She lived most of her adult life in Chicago where she graduated from the Chicago broadcast Academy. She worked as a legal assistant and for several years as the curator of the gift shop for the DuSable Museum of African-American History in Chicago. In 2005 she relocated to Oklahoma. Helen is survived by her children: Harolyne Glenn Grant and Martin Grant of Honolulu; Linda Glenn Kesler and John Kesler of Macomb; her son David Michael Glenn and wife Tammy of Olympia Fields, Illinois; Alice M. Glenn of Chicago, Illinois. Her grandchildren are: Kristen Ewell of Honolulu, Michael P. Glenn and wife Shonna of Honolulu, Jarrod and Julie Ewell of Pacifica, CA, Rebekah Kesler McCarley and husband Jared of Daniel Island, S.C., Aaron Kesler of Tecumseh; Paris June Glenn of Olympia Fields, Il., and Bianca Vincente of Chicago. Her great-grandchildren are: Michael Herrara of Honolulu; Avery and Marcus Ewell of Pacifica, CA; and Shayden and Shansley Glenn of Honolulu. Helen is survived by her only sister, Edna Clark Stancle of Battle Creek, MI. Her brothers, Lloyd Clark, Ben and Cloyce Tucker and Nathan Alexander preceded her in death. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. At the time of her death Helen had come to appreciate the hope set out in the Bible and found in these scriptures; Psalms 83:18, Revelation 21:1-5 and John 5:28-29. A Memorial is planned for Saturday, June 13, 2009 at the home of John and Linda Kesler in Macomb, Oklahoma. Sympathy cards can be sent to P.O. Box 416, Tecumseh, OK 74873.
