Geraldine Larsen

d. April 5, 2009

Geraldine G. (Gerry) Larsen died peacefully in her sleep on April 5, 2009, from complications of Alzheimer"™s disease.  She was 75 years old. She was born Geraldine Garnet Terry in Morris, Illinois, on July 22, 1933, to Herbert and Martha Terry. She married her high-school sweetheart, Curtis Larsen, in Seneca, Illinois on August 30, 1952, and together they raised two children, Kimber LeighWolfe of Palmer, Alaska, and Jay Curtis Larsen of Del City, Oklahoma.  Gerry was pre-deceased by her parents, her two brothers, Melvin Terry and Herbert Terry Jr., and her oldest sister, Marge Walters.  She is survived by her loving husband, Curt, of the home.  She is also survived by both of her children; her son-in-law, John Wolfe; her four grandchildren, Benjamin Wolfe of Nipomo, California, Elias Wolfe and his wife, Nikki Jo, of Seeley Lake, Montana, Erin Wolfe of Anchorage, Alaska, and Ashley Larsen of Del City, Oklahoma. Also surviving Gerry are two great-granddaughters, Sydney and Sienna Wolfe of Seeley Lake, Montana, and two sisters, Dorthey Rivett of Seneca, Illinois, and Edith Fararre of Marseilles, Illinois. Gerry was an intrepid Air Force wife from the time of her marriage to Curt until his retirement from the military in 1972. She then served as Midwest City Hospital"™s executive secretary under William Mulinix for seventeen years, until her retirement in 1989.  She became ill with Alzheimer"™s disease in 2002, and she raged against the dying of the light for seven years as her loved ones looked on, unable to help.  May the earth rest lightly upon you, sweet wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend.        Interment will be supervised by the Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home in Seneca, Illinois; local funeral arrangements are being facilitated by Corbett Funeral Service of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  A simple memorial service is planned for Gerry at Ascension Lutheran Church, 3617 S.E. 29th St., Del City, Oklahoma, on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at 2:00 P.M.   We thank Gerry"™s wonderful caregivers at Care Plus Home Health and Arbor House Assisted Living Center"™s Memory Care Unit.  Especially, we thank all the nurses and CNAs at Hospice Quality Care of Midwest City who were such valiant advocates for Gerry"™s care.  Bless you all.    To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Geraldine Larsen please visit our Sympathy Store.
