Geoffrey
Munro
May 13, 1954 — Sep 6, 2026
Geoffrey Scott Munro, age 72, passed away suddenly at his home on September 6, 2026. Born on May 13, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, Geoff was raised in the city he loved before later making his home in Mundelein, Illinois, and eventually Oklahoma, where he spent the last ten years of his life.
Geoff was a family man. Soley devoted himself to his wife and loved ones. He loved the Lord and was so grateful to be a part of New Song Church, Oasis team and Feed His Sheep ministry. He will forever be treasured as Patricia walks forward with their Lord until she sees him again in heaven.
Geoff was a patriot who loved his God and Country. He had recently reconnected with the Schurz High School alumni group and loved the relationships they had rebuilt and made in this new season of their lives.
Gifted with both creativity and practicality, he loved working with his hands, whether building, repairing, or creating something new. He was the person family and friends could count on to fix almost anythingand tinker with his many projects.
Music had been a part of Geoff’s childhood and the Munro family tradition. In their early years, music brought the Munro siblings together for countless special occasions, including church events and gatherings as children at the Methodist Campground in Des Plaines, Illinois. The friendships and memories created through music remained a treasured part of his life.
On July 26, 1997, Geoff married the love of his life, Patricia Munro (née Goold). Together they built a life rooted in family. They enjoyed the simple pleasures of exploring the four corners of Oklahoma, andrecently the Grand Canyon in Nevada and California from north to south.
Geoff is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; his daughters, Jennifer Larkin, Sarah Haka (Joe and son Gabriel), and Amanda Furno (Chrisand son Aiden). He is also survived by his sisters, Carol Galliett and Bonnie Lill (Steven); and his sisters-in-law, Lynn Munro, Mary Ann Goold, Ruth Stankowski (Ray), and Genie Durand (Paul), along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Geoff was preceded in death by his parents, Emmerson and Elfriede Munro; his brother, Bill Munro; his youngest sister, Kim Munro; his mother-in-law, Martha Goold; his brothers-in-law Hollis Earnest and Peter Galliett; sister-in-law Margaret Earnest; cousin, Marte Palm; and angel baby nephews and niece.
Geoff will be remembered for his kind heart, quick wit, unwavering willingness to help others, deep faith, love of family, and the music that so often brought those he loved together. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created and the lives he touched will remain a lasting blessing to all who knew him.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:23.
