In loving memory of Fred and Neva Stephens, Neva who journeyed from this world on January 6, 2017 and Fred who journeyed from this world on May 31, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They were not just a couple; they were a harmonious duet whose lives intertwined beautifully, marked by love, laughter, and a shared passion for family and community.
Fred, born on March 23, 1941, was an undeniable pillar of strength, embodying the spirit of resilience and dedication. He proudly graduated from Central State College, forging a successful career in pharmaceutical sales. His early years in Oklahoma City laid the foundation for a life devoted to service—with valor, he enlisted in the Marines, where his love for music flourished as a member of the Marine Corps Band.
Neva, born August 6, 1942 a radiant spirit and quick-witted professional, graduated from Northeast in 1960 after attending business school. Her path crossed with Fred's at the Federal Reserve Bank, where they met, worked, and eventually found their hearts' counterpart in one another. With her sharp organizational skills, Neva brought warmth and efficiency to every bank she graced, leaving a lasting legacy among her colleagues.
Together, Fred and Neva passionately embraced life’s moments, creating a wealth of memories that will echo through the ages. They were often seen cheering joyously from the sidelines at their children's sporting events, their laughter a testament to their unwavering support and love. In the peace of their later years, Fred found solace in the written word, crafting stories that reflected the depth of his experience, while Neva pursued the thrill of skiing and the camaraderie of bowling.
Their love extended seamlessly into their family. They are survived by their devoted daughters, Kelly Renee Stephens and Kristen Smith, and their beloved granddaughter, Kaelyn Thompson, who will carry forth their rich legacy, nurtured under the loving guidance and encouragement of Fred and Neva.
Though they departed this earth, the warmth of their memories will forever remain a guiding light. They were preceded in death by their son, Kip Stephens, and their parents, yet their entwined spirits will continue to illuminate the lives of those who were blessed to know them.
As we reflect on the lives of Fred and Neva Stephens, we cherish their shared journey and celebrate their enduring bond—a testament to love’s power and the indelible footprint they left behind in this world. They will be remembered and missed, but their laughter, stories, and unbreakable familial ties will forever resonate in our hearts.
