Elizabeth Louise Williams Born in April 24th, 1939 Left planet earth to meet her true Father on March 15th, 2018. Elizabeth was known to her circle of family and friends by many names, Lou, Mom, Grandma, ‘Homie G’, and The Wheezing Eagle. She fought a brave fight against multiple health issues and was comforted by the presence of her immediate family and best friend at the end of that battle. Early on, life had been difficult for Elizabeth, but she ultimately found a peaceful, simple existence that was enhanced by life- long friendships and her grandchildren that live nearby. In her later years, an Ice cold bottle of Coke and access to one of the home shopping networks were all she required to contently pass her days as a retiree. All of those that knew her have our own special memories and appreciation for the things that made her who she was. Her sense of humor, her talent for playing the piano, her generosity and her loyalty to her friends. In her hospital room, when she was still on the ventilator and just prior to her passing, I asked her if she remembered having a food fight with me in our kitchen when I was about 11 years old - She was baking something that afternoon and started the food fight by giving me a big grin and then throwing handfuls of eggs and flour at me….then it was on! After several minutes of hurling the entire contents of our fridge and pantry at each other, we were both on the floor in a big sloppy mess. The only ammunition left was a full gallon of milk, which I promptly poured directly on her head. So there we were, on the floor, covered with every gooey, sticky & wet ingredient in our kitchen laughing hysterically. Upon hearing me recount the story of that day, Mom nodded that she remembered and mouthed the words ‘that was fun”. It was fun Mom – Thanks for the memory Breathe easy and rest well, Mom – Grandma - Lou.
