Don Allen Elledge, 71, of Bethany, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on July 13th, surrounded by his loving family.
Don is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Nancy Elledge; his children Scott Elledge, Kari Elledge, and Dustin Elledge; his many beloved grandchildren; his sister Teresa Johnson; and his brother Roy Elledge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Olean Elledge.
Born on December 27, 1953, Don graduated from Procter R. Hug High School in Reno, Nevada, in 1971. Throughout his youth, he lived in a variety of places including California, Oregon, and Nevada, but eventually returned to Oklahoma, where he attended the University of Oklahoma.
In 1976, while working construction for his uncle in Ohio, Don's life changed forever when he met Nancy. Their connection was immediate, and their love for adventure became the foundation of a life filled with travel, laughter, and shared experiences.
Don was a man of many passions. He loved the outdoors—especially fishing and hunting—and he never passed up a good game of dominos or poker. He delighted in sharing these interests with his family, who cherish the many memories made on camping trips and fishing outings. His children were fishing before they could walk, and the family often caravanned to lakes, creating strong bonds among siblings and cousins.
A lifelong learner, Don had a deep love for reading and was especially fond of books, newspapers, and shows about history and nature. He passed that curiosity on to his children, encouraging them to explore and learn about the world around them.
Don’s legacy lives on in the family he so deeply loved and the countless memories they shared together.
