Chester C. Silk passed away on April 10, 2024. This is a huge loss for those blessed to know him. He was a proud member of Cherokee Nation, retired U.S. Air Force, and a Vietnam Veteran. During his service, Chester traveled to many countries and states. Although he loved to travel, he always called eastern Oklahoma home.

He is known for his dry sense of humor, strong connection to family and friends, ornery personality, and willingness to help others. Though his body aged, his spirit did not, even planning a beach vacation two weeks prior to passing. Chester was greeted in Heaven by several family members, including father Foggy Silk, mother Ruby Silk, spouse Joy Silk, and sister Nancy Byrd.

He will be missed dearly by family and friends including his sister Roberta Kimble and husband Dean Kimble; sister Cathy Davis and husband Gene Davis; brother Cecil Silk and wife Bonnie Silk; daughter Dawn Scuddy and husband Jimmy Scuddy; son Jay Silk; grandchildren Jade Franke and husband Andrew Franke, Nathan Scuddy and wife Samantha Scuddy, Autumn Scuddy, and Kaleb Silk. His legacy includes four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of life has been planned, but the date has not been set.
