Carolyn Liggett of Yukon, Oklahoma passed away August 18, 2018, at the age of 84, surrounded by the love of her family. Carolyn was born to George Raymond (Shorty) and Freda Long on July 18, 1934 in Colo, Iowa. Carolyn and her three brothers Marlin, Ronnie, and Danny Long were raised in Collins, Iowa, where they all raised ruckus and where Carolyn met the love of her life, Max Liggett. Max and Carolyn went on to marry and have two children: David Liggett and Lynda Copeland, three grandchildren: Jill Leonard, Amy Schell, and Andrea Liggett, and four great grandchildren: Caleb & Maci Leonard and Joslyn & Kai Schell. Carolyn excelled in various service careers in education, office management, and healthcare fields. However, she considered her most important and rewarding job to be raising her children and helping care for her grandchildren. Carolyn's passions were wide-ranging and included basketball, golf, gardening, traveling with Max, baking, reading, caring for all types of animals, and of course, spending lots of time with family. Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers, and an angel great grandbaby. Carolyn is survived by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her very dear dog Chloe. She was survived by her husband Max, who joins her now in Heaven. On Saturday December 11, 2021, Max Liggett, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather (Papa), passed away at the age of 87 in Yukon, Oklahoma. Max was born on December 18, 1933 in Sewal, Iowa to Harley and Edna Liggett. He grew up in the small-town Collins, Iowa where he attended school with his childhood sweetheart, who later became his wife, Carolyn. He was very active in sports, including baseball, golf, and tennis, and he was an exceptional artist. Max proudly served in the United States Navy, before pursuing a successful career in mechanical engineering that allowed him to travel the world. Above all else, Max loved spending time with his family. Max is preceded in death by his parents Harley and Edna Liggett, his wife Carolyn Liggett, and great grandchild “Angel Baby” Schell. He is survived by his sister Beverly Jean Wierson, his two children David Liggett and Lynda Copeland, grandchildren Jill Leonard, Amy Schell, and Andrea Liggett, great grandchildren Caleb & Maci Leonard and Joslyn & Kai Schell, many nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog Chloe.
