Martha Greer (Carrington)

November 16, 1939 — December 10, 2020

Martha (Marty) Greer departed this world on December 9, 2020 at age of 49 (she stopped counting a few years back). Martha was deeply devoted to her family and friends. She had an infectious laugh and loved to tease her kids and grandkids. Martha was born to Laura Mae and T.R. Carrington. She grew up in St. Louis, Oklahoma and graduated from St. Louis High School. She worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield until her retirement. She married Harry Greer in 1991. Marty’s greatest pride in life were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Marty spoiled them relentlessly and bragged on them every chance she had. She attended many baseball and basketball games as well as concerts and field trips with her grandchildren. All of her grandchildren can vouch there was nothing better than a sleepover at Grandma’s, complete with movies, snacks, and lots of laughter. Marty loved her friends and family well. She loved family gatherings and spending time with her extended family. She was a bonus mom, sister, and grandma, to many people. She always tried her best to make people feel at home and cared for. She loved to paint and create art, which you could tell from stepping foot in her home. She had a vibrant sense of style, and put pizzazz in every outfit and home décor selection. She loved sparkles and bright colors, which she and her great granddaughter Caroline often bonded over. She loved history, art, travel, and many diverse activities including a local ski club and koi club as well as a local Civil War Round Table. Marty and Harry loved to spend time with their friends, having dinners and various outings. Martha is preceded in death by her parents, her son Sam Thompson, and her brothers Tommy and Jerry Carrington. Martha is survived by her husband, Harry, sister, Pebble Stark, her sister-in-law, Joyce Pybas, her son, Ted Thompson, her stepchildren, Stephanie and Ryan Greer, her grandchildren Brittany, Jared, Chase, Morgan, and Harry, Tylre, Alex, and Austin, and her great grandchildren, Mack, Caroline, Tidus, and Addy, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, all of whom will miss her tremendously.
