Linda Beth Turner Albers

March 16, 1944 — March 5, 2022

Linda Beth Turner Albers was born in 1944 in Port Arthur Texas to Moneta and Albert Turner. Linda’s greatest pride was her children. She loved them fully and expected a great deal of them. She shared stories of their success with anyone that would listen, she loved to brag about them. Then came Erik, her grandson. She adored him. They enjoyed baking together and she was happiest when he was around. Linda married after high school and began working at Southwestern Bell, supporting her husband as he attended college. Her firstborn Stacey was born at the same hospital as her mom and dad, and Stacey shared a birthday with Linda. Together they celebrated wonderful birthdays. The family moved to Rochester NY where they made great friends before relocating to Oklahoma City where her second child Alex was born. She was a homemaker in the early years, focused on raising and supporting her family. In 1984, Linda went to work at Western Electric, working in both purchasing and graphic design. She was a working mother who led by example. She attended Southern Nazarene University graduating magna cum laude in Human Resource Management. She went on to participate in the Graduate program at the University of Oklahoma where she received her Master of Arts in Counseling / Human Behavior summa cum laude. Linda enjoyed camping with her children and family and friends. She loved family reunions and being with those she loved. She was a great storyteller and remembered details like no other. She loved to travel both nationally and internationally with her sister Jean and close friends and they had wonderful trips. She was an incredibly talented artist. She loved to paint and was a creative spirit. She loved her dogs, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and QVC! She had a group of friends that she played bridge with, and she so enjoyed baking for them each time they met. She had long time, lifetime friends that she loved dearly and had a great appreciation for the value they added to her life. Health challenges caused Linda to retire earlier than she hoped. She proved her courage and strength and fought hard to live independently. She lived in her home for over 40 years and was proud of all she accomplished on behalf of her family. In 2019 she moved to Quail Ridge Assisted Living, a challenging move but one that brought so many new friendships. She served as president of the residents at Quail Ridge and was an advocate for those that lived there. Often, she would assist someone to dinner or make sure they were able to attend the activities they enjoyed. She fought for attention for those that needed it and it gave her hope and allowed her to feel needed. Her time there was a blessing. Her passing was peaceful, and she had time with those that loved her, and she spoke with her friends and her sister and spent time with her dog Libby. In true Linda fashion, this was exactly as she wanted it. Headstrong and determined even as she said goodbye. Linda is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughter Stacey and her husband Scott Bjorklund and their son Erik, her son Alex Albers, and his wife Chade, all from Oklahoma City OK, her sister Jean Wiley of Bridge City TX / Boynton Beach FL, and best friends Greg and Bobbi Pinkerton of Oklahoma City OK, and many wonderful cousins and nephews, and their families.
