Jonathan Christopher Kurtz

Jonathan Christopher Kurtz was born August 10, 1984 and passed away suddenly January 28, 2021 after twelve days on life support with no hope for survival. Jonathan is survived by his mother Traci Guptill of Oklahoma City; his father & stepmother Charles & Margaret Kurtz of Oklahoma City; his sister Amber Guptill of Choctaw; his brothers William Kurtz and Nathan Smith of Oklahoma City; and his ex-wife and son Zuly & Evan Kurtz.  He has numerous wonderful aunts and uncles with many, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jonathan was a very loving child who grew up to be a very wonderful and loving man.  He married his wife Zuly in 2004, just before their graduation.  He attended Acoustic Edge Stereo School and graduated top in the nation with his excellent test scores.  They decided to put his career on hold while Zuly attended Nursing School to become an RN.  While she was attending school they moved in with his grandmother, Yvonne Leard, to help care for her in her home. Johnathan played a very big part in many people's lives, including that of his mother, having aided in her recovery.  Jonathan was a top race car mechanic.  His love was racing cars and he was a part of the Nissan Z Club and a few others.  He has numerous trophies placed on his Nissan 370Z.  He and Zuly traveled to several different race tracks.  He was also into coding, building and working on computers.  He wanted to attend college to become an aircraft mechanic, but things were put on hold when he broke his leg in an accident at work.  He enjoyed re-coding video games and was known as a “cat whisperer”. Jonathan has numerous friends from Middle School, but his best was Clay Beeler.  If Jonathan became your friend, he was your friend forever. He will be missed by many who loved him dearly.
