Michael Glenn Haley

April 11, 1951 — February 1, 2016

Michael “Mike” G Haley, 64, passed away at 11:30 in the evening of February 1, 2016 at Select Specialty Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He fought bravely to survive complications following a heart attack and surgery in November 2015 from Agent Orange related ischemic heart disease. Michael was a Vietnam Veteran. He enlisted in the Army in 1970 and went to Cam Ranh Bay, South Vietnam as a member of the 243 AVN Co where he was a CH-47 Chinook Helicopter repairman. He eventually got an A&P license and pursued a career in helicopter maintenance because he said it allowed him to travel and see many places in the world. He was employed by Air Methods Corporation and worked as Lead Helicopter Mechanic in Southern California with Mercy Air before moving back home to Oklahoma where he worked with Medi Flight. He loved his job and took great pride in his work. Michael was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma on April 11, 1951 to John and Joan Haley, the oldest of five children. Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife, Kari Haley of thirty years, his son Timothy Haley and four sisters Judy, Nancy, Becky and Amy. Michael had a great sense of humor, was generous to a fault, and loved animals. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and co-workers. Special thanks to the staff at St. Anthony Hospital, Integris Baptist Heart Hospital and Select Specialty Hospital for everything, the excellent and loving care, the persistent optimism and support in the relentless effort to help Michael recover.
