Betty E. Osborn

Betty Ryan Osborn passed away April 26, 2015 at home. She was born October 18, 1928 in Maramec, Oklahoma to Dana and Burgenia Ryan. Betty was raised in Pawnee, Oklahoma, where she graduated from High School and then attended Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Missouri. Beginning in the fall of 1947, she attended Oklahoma A&M where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. There, she met her beloved husband Jack Osborn; they were married in 1949, and celebrated their 65th Anniversary last October. Betty loved being a homemaker, cultivating friendships, playing bridge and spending time with her family. After Jack’s retirement, they travelled the world, visiting all seven continents, discovering new friends and creating lifelong memories. She was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed serving as a docent at the Western Heritage Museum. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her only brother, Dr. Dana C. Ryan in 2002 and her sister-in-law, Rosemary Ryan in 2014. She is survived by her husband Jack H. Osborn of the home, brothers-in-law Bill Osborn and wife Kay, Jim Osborn and wife Jane, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held in the Brill Chapel at Epworth Villa in Oklahoma City, at 2:00 pm on Friday May 1, 2015. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in Pawnee, Oklahoma.
