Barbara Jean Reid

Barbara Reid completed her mission on earth on November 27, 2012. Barbara was born on August 22, 1929 in Asheville, North Carolina to Margaret and Allen Caudle. She graduated from Lawton High School and attended Cameron University. During the years she was raising her children, she successfully navigated family moves to Australia, New Zealand, Chicago and back to Oklahoma; all the while amassing countless friends along the way. Barbara spent nearly 30 years in banking, at Liberty National Bank. Barbara did not slow down after retirement and was active in her investment club, bridge club, and book club; volunteering for mobile meals; and being with her beloved posse of Lawton High friends. She also enjoyed working in the yard and planting flowers with her son, shopping with her daughters and granddaughters, and solving the world's problems at the kitchen table with her friend Buddy. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Billie, grandson Kerry Waugh and nephew Doug. She is survived by her daughter Ann Reid Oswalt and her children Lucas and Lindsey and their spouses Lizzie and Cameron; daughter Susie Reid Waugh and her husband Kenny and daughters Jennifer and Abby; son John Reid and his wife Cynthia and daughter Chloe; her sister Lou and husband Woody; brother Allen and his wife Esther; nephews Mark, Pat and Walter; as well as her longtime companion Fred "Buddy" Reinauer. Barbara's life is best exemplified by her friendships. She counts many current and former neighbors as her family and they count her as the same.
